Nancy Otis: Writer, historian, Grand Marshall

MANCHESTER - long-time resident Nancy Otis, co-author of  a history of the city of Manchester and an honorary marshal of the official celebration of the next Bicenquinquagenary  charter city, died Friday u200b u200b u200b u200b15 July. She was 86 years old
She was born 25 June 1925 in Nashua, NH A well-known author, she was also a former editor of a reporter and photographer in the Bennington Banner, and was l  women  Principal Assistant former teacher and Burr and Burton, Don Otis, who survives him.
The s  waves are registered in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in Washington as an expert. It was then that , she was on duty as , she met her husband, Don Otis, who was also in the  army  time.

Don Otis said the two met on a train during the Christmas holidays.
Don Otis Otis said Nancy had to leave a day before him, but they made plans to meet at the station, was completed before discharge. The following September - in 1946 - the two were married.
We had actually seen  on the second place, maybe four times, but of course we have reported and written before, and back,  Don Otis said.

The couple s  installed in Manchester in 1951. It  was in 1970 when Don was assistant director Otis Burr and Burton, Steve Nichols, currently a board member to vote and President of the Organizing Committee Bicenquinquagenery, said first Once familiar with Nancy Otis.

More recently, Nichols said the two had a welcome dinner once a week, where he works, and he would also visit them at home. In an interview Monday, said Nichols s , one of the things that , he will miss most about Nancy Otis is his humor.
North says that  she and Nancy Otis shared a number of  interests - # for as u0026 39; reading pleasure and  written and much of the same writers and poets.

Earlier this year she and Don Otis chosen to be on the cover of the report Manchester City and  be appointed to serve as honorary marshals Hotel to celebrate two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the city.

Don Otis back to his wife as a  brilliant person  who can actually write. But that , he will remember these attributes, said its description of his to her as a person.
Memorial services for Nancy Otis will be held Saturday, July 23 to 15 hours in Sunderland Union Church Hill Farm on the road in Sunderland. L  Burial will be in the family plot in the cemetery of Hecate.
